How Long Does a Wheel Alignment Take?

Most alignments take 45 to 90 minutes. Where your vehicle lands in that range depends on its condition and on what the technician finds when they look it over.

What Decides How Long an Alignment Takes?

Most alignments take 45 to 90 minutes, depending on the condition of your vehicle. The time also depends on whether any steering or suspension parts need attention first. A worn part can stop a car from holding the adjustment, so the look-over comes before the adjustment.

What Does the Technician Do During an Alignment?

The look-over of steering and suspension parts comes first.

The visit starts with the simple things and then measures. The technician looks at tire pressures and tire wear, looks over the steering and suspension parts for anything worn or loose, and measures the wheel angles against the manufacturer specification. Then the angles that are out are adjusted.

Can Alignment and Balancing Be Done in One Visit?

Yes. Alignment and balancing are two different services, and we can do both in one visit. Alignment adjusts the wheel angles so the vehicle tracks straight. Balancing corrects weight differences in the wheel and tire so they spin without vibration. They fix different problems and are often done together.

Do I Need an Appointment?

Walk-ins welcome, appointments preferred. Book online or call (240) 260-3955 to pick a time.

What If the Technician Finds a Worn Part?

You hear about it first, with the reason. A worn steering or suspension part can stop the car from holding an alignment, so it matters. No work is done without your approval.

“John told me I didn’t need service to my tires and they rode very well; no need to spend the money on a service that wasn’t needed.”
